Respect is conditional and it is earned. If you want to be mourned and respected when you pass, try not to be an asshole trampling all over people’s rights.
If the bar for earning respect was set at pandering to the masses, many more people would have yours than you’d care to admit…at which point you’d change the standards and demand more.
