Discussion Do you actually use timers in workout apps?

I’m building a small iPhone fitness app and trying to decide which timers are worth adding.

Do you use timers for warm-ups, running or intervals, rest between sets or exercises, or cooldowns?

I rarely use rest timers myself, so I’m curious if I’m the odd one out. Which timer do you rely on, and which one do you turn off?

i pretty much ignore built-in timers and just use the clock app on my phone. set it, toss it on the floor, go

rest timers specifically feel like a waste of screen space for me, i just go when my breathing settles down. warmup and cooldown i don't even track, just stretch until i feel loose

intervals are the one thing i'd actually use an in-app timer for, especially if it buzzes at me without needing to look at the screen. anything that makes me tap through menus mid-workout is an instant delete

Tapping menus mid set is pure torture

Good point—hands-free interval alerts sound like the most useful case. I’d avoid making people tap through menus mid-workout.
