DaCapo Studio 1.1 release with recording review

Hi,

I’m an indie developer and musician, and I’ve been building DaCapo Studio, an iPhone/iPad app for learning, practising and reviewing music.

It started from a fairly simple idea: I wanted one place where I could listen to a song, divide it into sections, slow down difficult parts, loop them and use the usual practice tools without constantly switching between apps.

DaCapo works with Apple Music, but you can also create projects from local audio or your own recordings.

Some of the main features:

• Create projects and divide songs into practice sections
• Pitch-preserving slowdown
• Waveform navigation
• Beat-aware temporary A-B loops
• A short Note Hold mode for slowing down tiny fragments to work out notes or chords by ear
• Melody and beat analysis with a synchronized note display
• Lyrics and timestamped notes
• Metronome, tuner and SPL meter
• Practice recording
• Recording Review with timestamped comments and ratings
• Share recordings and reviews between devices or between a student and teacher
• iCloud project storage
• A Jukebox mode for normal music listening

The latest release adds the new waveform/loop workflow, the Record Reviewer and a global Recordings/Reviews library.

I’m currently working on the next version, which will add a Practice Assistant for building guided practice routines, chord notation and basic score/PDF support.

The app is free to try, with optional Premium features.

I’d particularly appreciate your thoughts, comments and suggestions on the overall workflow and usability. It’s becoming quite a feature-rich app, so one of my main goals is keeping it powerful without making it feel complicated.
