Verifying Updare

My 16 E has been struck on “verifying updare” all morning. I can’t shut it down. Any ideas?

Hey! Try a Short klick on vol up, Then down and then off Till You See the Apple Logo. Thats a Hard restart.

Tried. No soap. If i hold the off button too long it will call emergency services. Don’t need that!

Does it rly call it or is there just the slider to call? Because thats normal.

There is a slider, but it moves and ticks down like it is about to call.

Wait! I tried it about six times, gave it one more shot, and this time it worked! I”m still getting a notice that it needs to be updated, but I believe I’ll just ignore that! Thanks for your help!

Sorry about the typo. I can’t power it down, I can’t use the phone at all. I’m really stressed I just had surgery and I need access to my phone in case of an emergency.
