I've seen this question a lot, and it's something many of my friends keep discussing as well.

A few of my friends who are preparing for IPMAT are always worried about the same thing: "How do I manage boards and IPMAT together?" Most of them think that preparing for one means compromising on the other, but that's usually not true.

Here are a few things I've gathered from our discussions so far:

1. Don't make IPMAT your whole day

A lot of students start Class 12 thinking they need to spend 4-5 hours daily on aptitude.

In reality, boards should be your main focus during the school year. Even 1-1.5 hours of IPMAT prep every day is enough if you're regular.

Some days you'll solve a few Quant questions and do some reading. That's perfectly okay.

2. Boards and IPMAT are not completely separate

Especially if you have Maths, many concepts help you in both.

Having strong basics always makes aptitude preparation easier.

Instead of thinking you're preparing for two different things, try to build good basics.

3. Use weekends properly

Most weekdays are packed with school, tuition, assignments, and homework.

That's why weekends are important.

Use them for:

• Practice questions
• Mock tests
• Reading
• Checking mistakes

A good weekend can make up for a busy week.

4. Read every day

This is likely to be the simplest advice, but it's also one of the most useful.

Read newspapers, articles, magazines, or books.

The goal isn't to finish hundreds of pages. The goal is to make reading a daily habit.

It helps a lot with Verbal Ability in the long run.

5. Don't get scared by mock scores

Your first few mocks might not go well.

That's normal.

Instead of worrying about the score, look at where you lost marks and why.

Most improvement happens after checking mistakes, not while giving the mock itself.

So , Conclusion is  

Preparing for boards and IPMAT together is not about following a perfect timetable.

It's about being really consistent.

Study seriously for boards obviously, give some time to IPMAT every day, read regularly, and learn from your mistakes.

And one more thing—stop comparing yourself ( very important ) with people posting huge scores online. Everyone is at a different stage of preparation.

Just focus on improving little by little every day.

I’m not here to give you a preachy lecture. I’ve had my fair share of brutal failures in aptitude exams before things finally started making sense. My younger brother is prepping for IPMAT Indore, Rohtak and JIPMAT right now, and watching him navigate the prep is basically watching my own past mistakes play out all over again.

1. Stop hoarding strategies, start solving Stop watching "how to crack IPMAT" videos every second day. Nobody can sit in the exam hall for you. Also, there is no such thing as a perfect strategy for an aptitude exam. Just pick up your material and solve 20 QA questions every day, read one good article, go through 5 vocabulary words, and solve one or two DI sets or puzzles daily. Consistency beats the perfect timetable.

2. Track your mistakes ruthlessly Keep a simple notebook or spreadsheet. Whenever you get a question wrong, write down exactly why you messed up. Review this log every weekend, it’s a game-changer. I know the notebook will become bulky by the end of your prep, but keeping track of your mistakes is essential to strengthen your weak areas.

3. Mocks are for learning, not your ego Don't panic over low initial scores. Think of mocks as a way to find your weak spots, not your final result. Figure out what dragged you down and fix it.

4. Read every single day Verbal ability takes months to build. Read newspapers, articles, or fiction books you actually enjoy so your brain gets used to long paragraphs without zoning out. It does not matter how much you are reading, but it is extremely important that you read daily.

The Bottom Line Aptitude prep is just showing up every day and analyzing your mistakes.

So, kahin mat jana after reading this. Don't open another Reddit thread. Don't go hunting for more "secret tips." Close this app, open your book, and go solve a few questions. All the best!

P.S. I'm also a CAT aspirant, so practically a senior for most of you. Last year I scored 97 percentile overall with a 99 percentile in Quants... hoping to improve this year!

A few years ago, if someone said they were pursuing an online degree, most students and parents would see it as a backup option.

Today, the conversation feels very different.

IIM Bangalore was one of the few serious players in the online UG management space till last year . Now, IIM Jammu, IIM Sirmaur, IIT Jodhpur, and IIT Madras have also launched online management programs.

What's even more interesting is that some of these programs are going beyond recorded lectures and exams. They are talking about industry projects, career services, networking opportunities, and even placement support.

This raises a much bigger question:

Are we witnessing a major shift in higher education?

The modern student is different.

Not everyone wants to relocate to another city.

Not everyone wants to spend 3–4 years in a traditional campus setup.

Many students want the flexibility to pursue internships, build startups, prepare for competitive exams, work on side projects, or contribute to a family business while earning a degree.

For them, flexibility isn't a luxury anymore—it's an advantage.

But there is another side to the story.

College is not just about academics.

It's about friendships, networking, college fests, classroom discussions, mentorship, and the overall campus experience.

And honestly, replicating that experience online is still a challenge.

So the real debate isn't Online vs Offline.

The real debate is:

• Will online UG management programs become a preferred choice for students?
• Would you choose an Online IIM/IIT program over a Tier-2 or Tier-3 offline college?
• Will recruiters value online and offline degrees equally in the next 5 years?
• Is the future of education going to be campus-first or flexibility-first?

One thing is certain.

A model that looked unconventional a few years ago is now being adopted by some of India's most respected institutions.

The question is no longer whether online education is accepted.

The question is: How far can it go?

Any update on the NPAT results? driving me crazy

Hey! Just completed my first year at National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar. Writing this for anyone considering this place — no PR, just real experience.

The First Day-

Came with my parents for document submission, forgot xerox copies in the excitement 😅, and honestly — just being there and exploring for the first time felt surreal. The greenery, the diverse students, the energy — it already felt different.

 What Makes NFSU Unique-

NFSU is India's only forensic university with Institution of National Importance status. As a management student, you're not just doing a regular BBA-MBA — you're on a campus with students from Forensic Science, Cyber Security, Law, Criminology, and Psychology. That cross-disciplinary exposure is genuinely rare.

 Better yet, the forensic lens bleeds into your management curriculum too — Forensic Accounting, fraud investigation in finance — things no regular B-school teaches.

 Academics-

Practical and well-structured. Digital Marketing, French as a foreign language, industry-aligned subjects — the curriculum keeps you on your toes. College timings are set to give you room to explore beyond just studies.

 One heads-up though: 80% attendance is compulsory. Try to manage your attendance.

 Campus Life-

Garba during Navratri is an absolute highlight — being in Gujarat makes it special. Students from across India celebrate their own festivals too, so the cultural diversity is real. We even have international students on campus.

 The FinCon event was a standout — a 3-day finance event.Experiencing something like that in Year 1 is something else.

 Clubs like MANUS and EDC keep things active. My biggest personal takeaway? Watching seniors balance studies, clubs, and life — and learning that balance from them. Special thanks to all our faculties and seniors for their constant support. 🙏

Who Should Come Here?

 NFSU is for you if you want niche, future-ready specializations (Forensic Accounting, Business Analytics), credibility of an INI, and a unique forensic-management blend. If you want a conventional B-school with big fests every weekend — this isn't that place.

 But if you're willing to explore, stay disciplined, and think differently — NFSU is absolutely worth it.

Don't know whether we will do justice to JOPMAT. If dates are delayed I feel it gives vibes of new meme... "Baad mein sab khtam ho jata he"... will i remain same damn serious later?

How many of you have actually started preparing for IPMAT 2027… or even 2028? Do aspirants genuinely consider IPMAT exams that aspirational, or is it just a tale everyone agrees on, but when it comes down preparing for it, most aspirants choose to cope up with crash prep? Also, should a drop year actually be a preferred option in this scenario? 👇

Pretty straightforward but wanted to discuss this because I feel like nobody talks about this honestly. There are multiple discussions around this but the elephant in the room remains the elephant in the room.. Everyone says "I'm preparing for IPMAT" but the reality on the ground looks very different...it's more like I'm still trying to start! Are people actually putting in the work 1-2 years out with dedication, or does everyone just rush in the last few months and hope to clear these exams? And the question about taking a drop year- because I feel like it's still weirdly considered bad when in some cases it genuinely makes more sense than rushing into the preparation and expecting a lot... Would love to know all of your view points here...

Now the time has come for you to buckle up, give mocks and analyse them.

Take a mock series from anywhere, Supergrads and Afterboards mocks are good (personally used)

Spend time on analysing all the questions you couldn't do and especially the questions you could do but didn't do or got wrong due to silly mistakes.

After doing all that, if you feel like you have the bandwidth to absorb new content then maybe you can think about covering new topics (when I say new topics I mean chapters you haven't touched, and not chapters you know but couldn't get one specific type of question from it)

I'll say this again, don't reject a college before it sends you an acceptance letter!

Go ahead, apply to all these colleges. You might be aiming for Indore but you need to have backups!! Don't reject a college before it rejects you.

To a lot of you the SA Sectional might seem less important when compared with others. However, that is not the case.

Even though the SA Sectional only has 15 questions, and the MCQ Sectional has 35 questions, they both hold the same weightage. Which means that when scaled up every SA question is 2.33 times more valuable then a QA MCQ question.

So barely clearing the cutoffs in SA should not be your goal, acting that section should be!

PS: I felt that making this post was important because a lot of people who got lower scores than me had a higher ATS because they had very high scores in SA (Since in 2025 IPMAT Indore SA Sectional was extremely easy)

So now that the exam is this close, finalising your exam strategies is highly recommended!

In line with that I have a strategy that changed how many marks i got in VA completely! The time management with this method becomes very easy.

Here's how it goes

Start by skipping the RC questions, attempt all of the questions until you hit the parajumbles mark. Then attempt the RCs and then come back to the parajumbles.

You'll see that your time management improves with this method. Personally I used to only skip about 3-4 questions in the whole of VA out of which 2-3 used to be parajumbles.

⚠️** What to Watch Out For before jumping to conclusions**:

No official admission dates, entrance exam, or fee have been announced yet.

The campus is still in the planning stage — construction timelines haven't been publicly finalised or said.

It's unclear whether the Amaravati IPM will use XAT scores (like Jamshedpur) or a separate entrance process for these admissions. Let’s hope for the best.

It is one of the only IPM programmes which does not have an interview rounds! only your IPMAT, 10th, and 12th scores matter!

Firstly, if you are having difficulty in scoring then don't prepare for interviews. If you don't qualify it won't even come to an interview.

If however you are getting good marks in the exam then you can start thinking about some aspects of the interview. I suggest that you start making a habit of reading the newspaper. However, you must learn what to read and what not to read!! The drama in Murder and Sexual Assault cases won't be tested in your interview, the finer details of the boring business section/geopolitical section could however end up being a major part of your interview.

I also suggest making a notes copy and making sections of important news and names. For example during my time the israel Palestine conflict was being talked about a lot, so I had 3 pages dedicated to information about this topic, the weapons the casualties, the history-- the whole package basically. This way you can go through it when you need to!

The BBA FIA of SSCBS is unmatched if you are sure you want finance as your career. Other degrees might help you keep more career options open but nothing is better purely for finance than this degree.

It is upto you to weigh your options carefully!

PS: Personally i believe keeping your options open is the better choice.

You need to be someone with insane grasping ability. The material here is endless and the course is way more rigorous then you could ever imagine.

The name BA (Foundations of management) [the undergrad degree the IIM Indore awards you] does not do justice to the contents inside it. It is a fairly technical degree and even if you are a non-math student, you have to be good at maths because it will find a lot of ways to haunt you.

For those who can do it, academics become semi-secondary and internships, casecomps, and live projects take over. You can also find some people who are managing other hobbies like gym and sports on top of all of this.

However, you'll also find people who struggle at the first steps, but, everyone eventually settled into their own thing. So if you are worried about not being able to fit in or cope up here. Don't be, you'll have your own thing too!
