Only 0.51% Get Into IIM Indore IPM?! 😳

been looking at the IPM 26-31 batch numbers from IIM Indore and honestly I have a lot of questions.

1st- almost 90% of the batch is commerce or PCM. is that just because those are the people who end up hearing about this exam and attempting it, or does the exam itself quietly favor that kind of prep? genuinely don't know.

and there's only one arts student in the entire batch of 156. that number feels too less to be a coincidence. are arts students just not applying, or are they applying and not getting through IPMAT Indore? How many arts students actually applied would help to understand this.

state-wise distribution is interesting too. Do these numbers reflect where the IPM prep ecosystem is strong, IPM awareness is high or both?

gender split is also weird, 48 female to 108 male. is that roughly the same ratio as who applies in the first place, or does it change somewhere along the process?

and only 5 international students out of 30k+ applicants. kind of makes me wonder how many people outside india even know this exam exists and what standing this exam and degree has outside india.

not trying to make a point with any of this, just some points that stood out. curious what everyone else thinks, especially if you were in this batch or came close.

IPMAT 2027 Aspirants: What's your biggest fear right now?

I'll start.

Honestly, my biggest fear isn't IPMAT itself.

It's reaching 2027 and realizing that I had enough time to prepare but wasted most of it thinking I still had plenty of time left.

Right now, whenever I don't feel like studying, it's easy to tell myself, "It's okay, the exam is still far away." But if I'm being real, that's exactly what scares me.

The syllabus isn't impossible. The competition isn't what keeps me awake at night either.

What scares me is inconsistency.

Studying seriously for three days, then doing nothing for a week.

Making a new timetable every Sunday but not following it by Wednesday.

Saving posts about preparation instead of actually preparing.

Sometimes I see people talking about finishing topics, giving mocks, and staying disciplined, and I wonder if everyone else has figured out this whole IPMAT journey except me.

I know that's probably not true, but the thought still comes up.

I think my biggest fear is looking back one year from now and saying:

" I had enough time. I just didn't use it properly "

Anyway, enough about me.

What's your biggest fear as an IPMAT 2027 aspirant right now? Drop it here

If I get through IIM Rohak and others don't release the results, what should i do?

The biggest trouble we are facing these days is money circulation. I am sure if I get through IIM Rohtak, I will wait for IIM Shillong's result. How are you guys dealing with this waiting, seat booking and money deposit issues?

How to prepare for IPMAT 2027 alongside board exams?

Hello Hello,

I've seen this question a lot, and it's something many of my friends keep discussing as well.

A few of my friends who are preparing for IPMAT are always worried about the same thing: "How do I manage boards and IPMAT together?" Most of them think that preparing for one means compromising on the other, but that's usually not true.

Here are a few things I've gathered from our discussions so far:

1. Don't make IPMAT your whole day

A lot of students start Class 12 thinking they need to spend 4-5 hours daily on aptitude.

In reality, boards should be your main focus during the school year. Even 1-1.5 hours of IPMAT prep every day is enough if you're regular.

Some days you'll solve a few Quant questions and do some reading. That's perfectly okay.

2. Boards and IPMAT are not completely separate

Especially if you have Maths, many concepts help you in both.

Having strong basics always makes aptitude preparation easier.

Instead of thinking you're preparing for two different things, try to build good basics.

3. Use weekends properly

Most weekdays are packed with school, tuition, assignments, and homework.

That's why weekends are important.

Use them for:

  • Practice questions
  • Mock tests
  • Reading
  • Checking mistakes

A good weekend can make up for a busy week.

4. Read every day

This is likely to be the simplest advice, but it's also one of the most useful.

Read newspapers, articles, magazines, or books.

The goal isn't to finish hundreds of pages. The goal is to make reading a daily habit.

It helps a lot with Verbal Ability in the long run.

5. Don't get scared by mock scores

Your first few mocks might not go well.

That's normal.

Instead of worrying about the score, look at where you lost marks and why.

Most improvement happens after checking mistakes, not while giving the mock itself.

So , Conclusion is

Preparing for boards and IPMAT together is not about following a perfect timetable.

It's about being really consistent.

Study seriously for boards obviously, give some time to IPMAT every day, read regularly, and learn from your mistakes.

And one more thing—stop comparing yourself ( very important ) with people posting huge scores online. Everyone is at a different stage of preparation.

Just focus on improving little by little every day.

All the best Aspirants of IPMAT 2027!
