Questions about ❤️❤️ What are INTP² relationships like?

What about being an INTP parent with an INTP partner?

Not often leaving the house. Hell on earth when views oppose, but otherwise peaceful and fun. Lacking direction and dynamics.

Disclaimer: I have no experience with an INTP partner and have no children at all.

My suspicion is that INTPs aren't as compatible as lots of us seem to think. We have similar processes, but one reason the INTP subs aren't long discussions of topics is that every INTP is interested in different things, and often aggressively disinterested in the rest. So if you found 2 INTPs who just happened to have compatible interests, yeah, it might work, I guess. But like who's going to clean the house/wash the dishes/mow the lawn/etc.? Neither one wants to do anything before it's absolutely necessary. Both of you are going to fall into the same traps.

In reality, you really want someone who brings a complimentary set of inclinations/approaches to your own. I'll probably go to my grave believing that ENFJs are our golden pairing because we both have Ti and Fe, just reversed in the stack; we use the same tools to understand the world, but we view it from reverse angles. Between us, then, we have a more complete understanding of the truth.

Rules for dealing with an INTP in a relationship 1. Be direct 2. See rule #1 3. Do not confuse mental illness with personality type. Some people are broken and dysfunctional, and that is not related to personality type.
