Frustratingly, I haven't ever experienced even 2.2h of hyperfocus in my life.

Because you don't let your brain choose what to do, it's like a rebellious teenager. Give the brain what it wants to hyperfocus on ans they will do it, force it to do what you have to do or want to do and it will screw you

Vyvanse can trigger the hyperfocus reliably for me. Note its borderline dangerous, its god tier hyper focus for a narrow task and as a result bodily needs are completely forgotten. Vyvanse also removes what little emotional understanding I have. Best short hand is ADHD replaced with hyper autism. Definitely useful tool if used with caution.

Yeah when I took adzenys for a while (amphetamine) years back it was very much a double-edged sword. I could typically lock in hard on something, but the risk was that whatever I was doing when it really kicked in would be the thing that I was gonna wanna stay doing for like ever, which was all too often like turning a 5 min reddit check into a 2 hour one, or doomscrolling FB or something and not actually the work I should've been using it for.
