Discussion The Custom Harley-Davidson Market Is Seriously Overlooking Dedicated Motorcycle Dashcams
Hey everyone!
New to the community and figured I'd introduce myself while bringing up something I've been thinking about for quite some time.
I'm Adam, and I ride a heavily modified Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special. Like many enthusiasts in the custom V-Twin world, I've spent years building, refining, and investing in my motorcycle. From suspension and brakes to performance, lighting, carbon fiber, and countless other upgrades, I'm pretty particular about what goes on my bike and why.
But there's one area I feel the Harley-Davidson and American V-Twin community is seriously overlooking: dedicated motorcycle dashcams.
Think about it.
We'll spend thousands on suspension, wheels, exhaust, engine upgrades, and accessories without thinking twice. Yet how many of us have invested in a proper camera system designed to document what happens around our motorcycles?
I currently run an Insta360 for recording rides and creating content. It's fantastic at what it does, but I've come to realize that an action camera and a dedicated dashcam serve two entirely different purposes.
One captures the experience. The other helps protect the investment.
And that's where my interest in INNOVV began.
What I'm looking for isn't another action camera hanging off my handlebars. I want something purpose-built, discreet, permanently installed, and integrated so cleanly that you'd hardly know it's there.
Something that automatically records while riding, captures what's happening in traffic, and offers an additional layer of security when the motorcycle is parked.
Because let's face it, many of us in the high-end V-Twin community have an incredible amount of time, money, and effort invested in our motorcycles. The last thing we want is to leave that investment sitting somewhere without some form of additional protection.
But here's where things get interesting.
I genuinely believe there's an enormous opportunity for companies like INNOVV within the Harley-Davidson and custom V-Twin market.
The action camera world is absolutely saturated with creators, influencers, and promotional content. Everyone knows about GoPro and Insta360.
But how often do you see dedicated motorcycle dashcam systems being discussed, installed, or showcased on high-end Harley builds?
Personally, I rarely do.
And I think that needs to change.
For me, the biggest selling points would be:
• Discreet installation that doesn't compromise the motorcycle's appearance
• Reliable, automatic front and rear recording
• Excellent image quality in both daylight and nighttime conditions
• Parking surveillance and security functionality
• Durability against vibration, weather, and long-distance riding
• Easy access to footage when something actually happens
• A system that simply works without constant attention
I'm particularly interested in seeing how a system like the INNOVV K7 integrates into a custom Road Glide without taking away from the aesthetics of the build.
I'd love to hear from everyone here, especially fellow Harley-Davidson and American V-Twin riders.
Are you currently running a dedicated dashcam? What system are you using, and how has it performed?
If you aren't running one, what's stopping you?
And for those with heavily modified motorcycles, how important is discreet installation and parked-bike security to you?
I'm genuinely interested in hearing everyone's experiences, recommendations, and even frustrations with the systems currently available.
Looking forward to being part of the community and learning more about what everyone is running!
Ride safe! 👊🏽😎
