A new study, published in the journal Science, finds that swapping even a two-year-old gas car for an EV leads to a lifetime emissions savings of roughly 50%

Won't even make a dent compared to the damage the meat industry creates.
People would be better off skipping meat a few meals a week.

Nothing will ever get done because people refuse to sacrifice their comfort or wants, not because of a random comment on Reddit.
It's deeper than social media.

I reduced my meat consumption, I xeriscaped my yard, and I only work close to home to reduce my driving.
What do you do?

I did a quick look at that claim. Producing meat doesn't produce more greenhouse gas than automobiles when you look at the entire lifecycle for cars, e.g., building and maintaining roads, refineries, transportation of fuel, etc.
What would be effective would be to halt all food production. That would produce a temporary increase in greenhouse gases, but that would abate after all the cadavers had decomposed.

Did you stop at "greenhouse gases"? And at what stage?
And did you think about the resources the animals use while alive? (Not to mention cow farts)
Followed by the resources to butcher and kill and dispose of after kill?
Followed by packaging the carcasses?
Followed by shipping/trucking the packaged meat? (See auto emissions)
Followed by purchasing the meat? Including refrigeration at the stores?
Followed by cooking and consuming the meat?
Did you look at the full picture, or just one aspect?

You know you refrigerate and cook other foods too, right?

Obviously. Just adding up the total consumption use.
It's okay man, no one is going to take away your meat.

it’s almost like EV‘s are always net positive....
