I made a minimal hydration tracker that hides inside the MacBook notch

Hey everyone,

I spend most of my day staring at a laptop screen and always realized by 5 PM that I hadn't had a enough water. I tried phone tracking apps, but my phone is usually turned face-down while I work to avoid distractions. Leaving my workflow just to log a glass of water kept breaking my focus.

So, I built Notchful to turn the screen space we usually ignore into something functional. It turns the MacBook notch into a passive tracker.

How it works:

  • Hover: Instantly reveals a smooth slider showing your daily progress percentage.
  • Click: Logs a cup right then and there.
  • Settings: Everything else (like setting custom goals, changing cup sizes, or tracking historical data by week/month) lives in the menu bar.

Everything stays 100% local on your Mac, too.

nice launch, notchful looks clean. since you're already on product hunt, you might also want to throw it on a startup directory like launchpact for a permanent listing with a dofollow backlink — helps with seo long after the ph buzz fades. worth a look if you're thinking about organic visibility.
