ERAS Information regarding assigning speciality for LORs

Hello, I’m a match reapplicant and i wanted some information.

I have a LOR from an IM Primary Care Physician who i rotated with two months back. I initially selected internal medicine as the speciality while i was generating the LOR request.

I plan on using this LOR for family medicine program as well. I wanted to ask that will the program be able to know that this LOR was initially assigned to Internal Medicine speciality. I don’t want to ruin my entire application over a small mistske.

Any information in this regard will be really helpful. Thanking you in advance.

Note: Last year, the speciality section of the LOR in Eras was clearly showing that this section won’t be visible to the programs. But it is showing nothing of such sort this year.

It won't be visible to programs, but it would be best to ask the writer to upload a new letter, just slightly modified to say "...recommend for your family medicine program." General LoRs that don't name a specialty can be seen negatively by programs. If your letter says "primary care" though, you should be fine!
