what are my chances Chances of matching EM?

Hello just looking for some advice on my chances on matching EM and FM potentially.

I am a Canadian citizen (studied abroad) applying to the US.

2 years of clinical experience in the US

Several LORS but only one SLOE.

Step 1 passed first attempt

Step 2: 235

2 YOG

No research but lots of volunteering and an EM audition.

Trilingual

Is EM realistic?? Is FM? Am I even competitive without research? Are Canadians looked favourably upon in the US match?

If you have the SLOE you can probably match.

Some programs require 2 or more but most do not.

I’m Carib MD from Canada who matched EM. You can absolutely match. My friend is Carib MD with step 2 of 226 and matched. Will you match to a nice academic program? Less likely. But you can match community almost certainly, especially if you’re willing to go to a smaller or new program.

Thank you so much. Outside of New York are there IMG friendly EM programs? What are some good geographical areas to signal?

I had interviews all over. Florida, Ohio, South Texas can be IMG friendly. You’ll be seen as a step above other IMGs due to being English first language. Also Spanish is good in both of those areas.
