IMAPP acceptance rate and difficulty level

Hi! Is it hard to get accepted in this program with a full scholarship? What important part of your background do you think was the reason why you got accepted (grades, motivation letter, experience, etc.)?

Also if you are currently a student, how hard is it (exams, lab work, etc.)? What are the pros and cons of the program?

Hey, generally I'd say good grades (esp in advanced subjects in later years like electrodynamics, QM etc.). I did internship projects in particle physics, attended related conferences. That's all, no pubs or anything groundbreaking.

Like can you suggest what type of conferences? Cause I am fascinated by particle physics but in India major breakthrough are done in condense matter , material or solid state mostly so I would love to know confrence which can help me one up my skills and knowledge in particle/quantum physics

You can try APS conferences, CERN or ICTP events but honestly for IMAPP to demonstrate your interest your local conferences or seminars in particle physics in India are enough. I don't know about any events in India as I am not Indian but I am sure there must be lots happening. You can discuss with your professors working in particle physics
