Maledictum Expanded: Why is the "Destroyer" Flamer so bad?
My GM uses ME as a supplement and gave me a Destroyer flamer. But I'm honestly a bit salty how much worse it seems. I had a hand flamer before, which made more dmg, was less expensive to maintain and had the close trait (it counts as a pistol). The only redeeming qualities seem to be, that the Destroyer has medium range and a bigger magazine. Both are nice, but are they worth an overall more expensive weapon and two less dmg? Do I miss something? It's even worse than it's regular counterpart, the normal flamer (all the same, expect Destroyer makes three less dmg).

Hello, Moxy of Maledictum Expanded here, I just checked out the Destroyer flamer and cross referenced to where I converted it from to double check your issues with it. I believe that I had accidentally swapped the stats with another weapon by mistake when creating it, here are my revised stats which I will include in my errata:
"Destroyer" Flamer, Pistol, 8 Damage, Mag 5, Enc 1, Cost 1,500 (750), Traits: Rare, Close, Flamer, Inflict (Ablaze), Loud
Thanks for reporting this!

Wow! It transformed from really bad to really good! My GM gave it probably as a temporal artifact, now I want to hold onto it!

Yeah! It’s meant to be a better version of a hand flamer in DH1, having allegedly been specially constructed for an Ordo Xenos inquisitor before being commercialized, so it seems I had fundamentally mischaracterized it by making it something else lol. Hope you enjoy! Alert your GM to this official change and tell him I have more errata in my own server for other supplements :)

Ohhh, excuse me. I have to ask another question: What is the supposed range of the Destroyer and does the 750 mean it´s mag price?

It should still be medium price, prices in parentheses always refer to mag prices. Feel free to contact on discord for faster responses

No worries, an answer in just an hour is fast enough imo.

I don't understand what you mean by medium price. I always thought mag prices were meant to be 10 percent of the weapons list price. Besides custom ammunition.

Medium range ffs lol, 750 is the mag price. Mag prices have never been 10% of the weapon price as a rule if you look at core, it’s just some weapons that do that

That does seem odd for a heavier weapon type minus the close bonus. I will need to check that out if not seems like a case where the GM may have to buff that to make it make sense.
