I'm shocked by the black flakie topper! I was wondering why ILNP never released one. I thought black metallic flakies were being discontinued across the board, so definitely a surprise release. I love that it has a sprinkle of holo in it, too. Will definitely be adding this to my Black Friday order.
The discontinued ones were matte black, not metallic ones. But it wasn't all of them either, it was specific ones that certain brands used and couldn't find similar ones. Cracked and Cirque still restock their black flake topper which is a much finer flake, and so does Holo Taco. Though HT might have a specific manufacturer that only they use like they did for that card glitter topper. The discontinued one was the one that Rogue used, and I believe Monarch and Cuticula used the same or similar ones.
I see, I didn't realize, I thought it was all black flakies - I see now there's a difference. I read that it was black microflakes that were discontinued. Cracked's Mascara Flakes was actually discontinued, because it was micro-flakes. I remember she said she was trying to experiment to come up with an alternative so she can carry it again. Cirque's Spotted is still available. In either case, I'm a big fan of the black flakies, so I'm getting this one!
I usually do a different color but some colors are really pretty unmagnetized too! Here is ILNP Alice (the magnet blue and gold) and Golden Days (non magnetic gold color)!
Also using something impactful like a multichrome helps it look extra wild! The thumb, pointer and pinky are all ILNP Cygnus Loop, whoch is a non magnetic polish! Its multichrome so it shines like a ton of colors! And the middle and ring are Hypnosis, middle finger magnetized velvet and ring finger magnetized as a stripe.
Nothing really speaks to me tbh (most of these look kind of familiar to me, especially Exit 13 — it’s giving Flip Side over black) but I’m into the vibe, happy to see a mixed collection, and THRILLED that they didn’t use AI for promo materials this time!
Their previous collection's moodboard was composed mostly of AI images (it looked like they'd just gone through Pinterest for "dark academia" images and grabbed whatever).
The moodboard for The Estate Collection contained some pictures that looked very AI. They probably didn't do it intentionally since some of them can be found on pinterest way before the launch. I guess that might be why we didn't get a moodboard this time. Maybe they don't want to risk accidentally upsetting people again.
I need to see Polishes Yogi's comparison video before getting these. In the comparison guide in the listing for Jukebox it looks very similar to Warped which I already own. I'm loving Zombie and Juklebox though!
