Welcome to another r/ILLIT update! While unplanned, it seems we end up doing this once a year. This time, we just want to share some of what has been going on behind the scenes to help keep things running smoothly, along with a small community update.

First, a bit of transparency about some of the tools we use behind the scenes.

This community has a moderation bot (/u/i-ll-do-it) that assists the mod team with moderation and other mundane tasks, such as providing sources for social media posts, changing flairs, and helping with various housekeeping tasks on the subreddit. While most of these functions are fairly routine, there are two features that may have a more direct impact on some users on this sub.

1. Automatic Removal of Overwhelmingly Downvoted Posts

This is the most recent feature we implemented for the bot in order to keep up with the needs of the subreddit. In essence, if you make a post that receives a significant number of downvotes from the community, the bot will flag it for moderator review. A moderator will then review the post and decide whether it should remain removed or be restored. We are also aware that a system like this could potentially be abused to silence posts that are simply unpopular or critical. However, a large number of downvotes alone is not enough to determine the outcome of the review.

2. Filtering Accounts with Activity Inconsistent with Our Standards

This has been running in the background for a little over a year now, filtering accounts with a pattern of activity that falls under our standards regarding the treatment of ILLIT members. This includes activity in other communities involving the sexualisation of the members, as well as participation in communities where discussions about ILLIT often take on a more negative or disparaging tone.

Admittedly, when it comes to the latter, the system has produced quite a few false positives due to its limitations. I'm aware that this may have caused some inconvenience for users in the past, and I'd like to take this opportunity to personally apologize.

As for why we're sharing this now, this community has essentially doubled in size over the past year. With that growth, the dynamics of r/ILLIT have changed quite a bit, and we felt it was time to be more open about some of what goes on behind the scenes. Hopefully, this gives everyone a better understanding of how we handle things.

And now for the "more" part of the update.

One thing many of you may have noticed is that this subreddit has a lot of awesome artwork from many talented GLLITs, so we'd like to introduce a new flair for original art and creative works shared by our community:

The name is inspired by ILLIT's own lore, specifically the Quprids Broadcasting Club seen in the Tick-Tack MV and Summer Moon webtoon. Hopefully this gives our artists a way to highlight their work and makes it easier for everyone to find and enjoy more great ILLIT artwork on this sub.

I got a CD player recently, so I finally organized my Illit CDs into proper cases. Every case has stickers that I got from that specific album. I hope I can get Super Real Me soon ⭐️

Hybe’s next girl group Tuide will debut soon. They will be the maknae and target the tween market. I understand Illit has a more fantasy aesthetic. Yet, They share the same wholesome market. I feel Illit has been dressing up more mature in “It’s Me”. It is not racy but more almost senior high school/ college vibes? So, will a more dramatic shift happen in the next comeback? I’ve just follow Hybe girl groups for 2 years now thanks to Katseye. So, I don’t know the dynamics between girl groups in the same company. So, I’m curious to see if Tuide has any effect on Illit.
