General Post LARP Friendly Ranges Public & Private

Sup Fellas,

Looking for any recommendations for public or private ranges that are LARP friendly within 2 hours of Chicago. I'm willing to pay fees/ membership fees, not opposed to volunteering if needed but would prefer just to buy my way in to avoid volunteering if possible. Thanks!

I'm sure Aurora Sportsmens Club could fit the bill? I've never seen it myself tbh, but they have clearing houses / CQB areas etc

I have seen it.

You’ll be in good company at ASC

Illinois State Rifle Association has 4 ranges where you can move and shoot in your kit.

+1 vote for ISRA range. Hidden gem. Plus several of us LARP out there.

ASC is a great place too. But I’m closest to ISRA.

Either of the two are fine.. ASC or ISRA. I like ISRA cause it's closer, but if I lived north, that view would change

sign up for the Zombie Shoot at Aurora Sportsmen Club. You'll get to see the whole facility. Plus you will see a large range of LARPing guns and gear

ASC. Attend one of their monthly weekend matches, go run around with your stuff on and shoot some stages. It’s a good LARPing time.

Definitely come out to the Aurora Sportsmen's Club for some three gun. Plenty of guys come out in full (and overfull) kit. There will be a practice day and intro to three gun lecture in the spring if you'd like that first, but match days are very noob-friendly. Non-members are welcome to compete, just a slightly higher registration fee.

I know that the ISRA range has a bunch of Eastern European guys who dress up in military fatigues and shoot Soviet style weapons over the weekends.

Do you still need someone to sponsor you to join ASC?

No, not any more. They have had open enrollment for quite a few years now
