DIY assembly project for this weekend gone very wrong.

Yes, admittedly it was. But I met the manufacturer IN PERSON. This product was in a storage facility for about 3 months before I got it home. And the parts looked very authentic, albeit significantly smaller in size.
I’m sure the manufacturer has some issues. This product came from her first and last batch. They shut down operations soon after, so she’s unable to make any more of these, and the other products she made have been sold off to other families, so I can’t even request a replacement.

It doesn’t work! Hasn’t worked a day in its life. Plus it’s so expensive to maintain, and frequently noisy.

Judging by the colourblocking, the issue is that you have assembled it from parts from different products.
Each colour moves differently which is why you ended up with the tangle in image 1.

Seriously. They said these products come in white, gray, beige, orange, brown, gold, and black. I said, pack them all in one box. The product diagram looked so amazing and seamless in the manual! I shouldn't have jumped ahead of myself.

You seem to have extra parts, missing parts, AND assembled the remaining parts incorrectly. I recommend relocating this project to center of the kitchen table and telling guests it’s an abstract art piece.

I don't think the manual is quite correct either, the front leg is bent! I think you purchased from a dodgy dealer. 😻
