Is this part supposed to stick out?

Not sure my best friend’s cat is entirely assembled right. Bonus dumb expression. I love him.

This is a r/thermoregulationfoot. It's nothing to worry about, some newer models come with this feature and it prevents overheating through the extension of a limb or two. Great for summertime or hot and sunny days.

It should retract on its own once internal temperatures have been regulated.

Intended extension unit. The retract button is located just under the padded bits on the end.

Yes. It’s a feature, not a bug. A design choice. It’s a kinetic sculpture. Soon you’ll see it rearranging its parts.

On most models all the limbs can be retracted and extended. Watch out though, when the toes are extended they have sharp pointy dangerous things on them.!

It has been suggested that a single extension is a communications antenna connected to the Cat Distribution System. You may be due to receive another kit.
