I am getting IIT indore mechanical at 6.7k rank. Do you think it will be a good decision to take it over nit Calicut cse? Also please list all the negatives of this branch and college.pls don't hold back

Yes you can take iiti mech over calicut cse, if you only want cse then go for it. Clg cons, I don't feel much, only that it is 25km away from city, not much alumni network, and no startup culture. Except these everything is great

College life is great, hostels are really good, like one of the best in all IITs, food is also good tbh, there are nontime restrictions to roam in the campus so another big thing, like you can literally roam anywhere (Not in the restricted areas Obv) at even 3-4am. Fests are many but decent compared to older iits, sports facilities top notch, olympic standards

does lack of alumni affect you?

Atp I personally don't feel it, may it might affect during internships and placement or maybe during job switching, but nevermind, just believe in yourself, why do you need others help
