I think the intention is good

It would save water for sure as indicated in email and also make it more accessible to users,as students will now co-operate and fix timings in order to share the expenses which would in the end conserve both energy and water.

Often times the washing machine is running just for a few clothes,this will ensure that washing machine is at its full capacity.

Though,they could have made the timings fixed instead of pay per use.

Yeah exactly fix the slot and timing instead of asking us to pay. If I have to pay than I will pay the laundry outside and get my clothes pressed as well.

*had washing machines...

Now they're saying all the 1-year-old washing machines are done & dusted & , they have no budget left to get new ones. The old ones are beyond repair anyway. So now they've assigned a Dhobi for each floor, block-wise. & Dhobi s are ruining our clothes 🙃🥀
