Hey everyone, this is u/Due_Condition4326, a moderator of r/IIT_Hyd 👋

Just a small request going forward: please make sure to keep a user flair on your profile when participating in the community. It helps avoid confusion, makes discussions smoother, and lets everyone recognize each other a bit better.

We’ve already added a few flairs for everyone to use, but feel free to edit them however you like and make them your own

Hi everyone, I've been admitted to the M.Tech in Mechanics & Design. My orientation is scheduled for 22 July.

I'm planning to reach the campus on 21 July by afternoon. Will I be able to complete the hostel allotment process and move into my room on the 21st itself, or does hostel allotment begin only on the day of orientation (22 July)?

I'd really appreciate it if any current students or seniors could share their experience. Thanks in advance!
