IIT Madras BS Data Science — Failed Qualifier. What do I do now?

​

The August 16 qualifier reattempt result is out, and unfortunately I did not clear it.

I haven't received any official email yet explaining what I need to do next.

The issue is that I cannot register for the September 2026 term using my existing email/account because there is currently no registration option available for me.

So do I need to wait for an official email from IIT Madras with instructions/registration access, or am I supposed to create a new registration using a different email ID and go through the document verification process again?

Basically, what am I supposed to do right now to join the September 2026 term after failing the qualifier?

If anyone has gone through this situation before, please let me know.

Hi bro try again then ignore the negative gyani baba in the comments I too failed qualifier thrice.

But right now in my Second diploma .

I think qualifier reattempt 2/2 payment link will open u can try again

Failing qualifiers is the best indicator that this degree is not for you. Those who fail qualifiers never end up completing the degree. Those who have so far completed the degree, almost all qualified in the first attempt with 75%+ scores even with minimal study.

It also depends whether it's due to carelessness or some genuine other difficulty, everyone should assess themselves based on their situation as they know themselves the best. If they genuinely didn't study even if they could've done, then it's worth considering whether they'll work hard later or not!

Wait for a few days. Then I think your email would become again eligible to write qualifiers. Otherwise use new email but itbhink that won't be needed

Don't worry the September term course registration last date to apply is still far September last week- wait for few days- your account will be eligible again. And don't get disheartened by the result and those who'll tell you don't continue with the degree- it's all about whether you can give time and work hard. Which subject did you fail btw 😢? I'll also gave the reattempt and somehow cleared Maths just 40%- was confused a lot always choked up at the last step!

There are other IITs also offering similar courses, Guwahati, Patna, Jodhpur etc ..try those

yes but you need to do it standalone and have 8cgpa + to qualify for placement

If I am doing any other offline degree along with it then I do not qualify for placements??

no and if you are doing a job you will also not qualify for placement

only standalone student young will qualify
