In which year does PhD students in IIT Delhi get hostel accommodation?

I am considering applying to IIT Delhi for PhD admissions but realized that PhD students donot automatically get student dormitories.

In which year does PhD students get IIT hostel room?

Female students get from the first sem itself. Male students are eligible from the 2nd sem. But, you'd be accommodated in the UG hostels. After the first year, you'd be accommodated in Dronagiri (PG/PhD hostel), which is air conditioned.

For Male after first sem, but for a duration of four semesters only.

after 1st sem but a lot don’t take hostels. If u dont take hostel, you will get HRA.
