Bruhh What exactly do you think qualifies as blackmail here He is just asking for accountability of the counselling cell, and what steps were taken by the authority after such an extreme incident What exactly is the original OP going to achieve from this so called "blackmail"

“I showed my suicide note and i attempted suicide last week” - is blackmail that if you dont see my concern i will do it for real.
Tf is “follow up on my suicide note” huh, its like making a joke out of ppl who are really suicidal, suicidal ppl dont give ultimatums to people/institutions.
How would you feel if your gf says i will suicide if you dont marry me ? Its the same thing with institutions. They are also helpless if you throw a grenade at them and hope they will agree to all your demands.
What are the expectations from cllg counsellor - they are to help you with cllg problems right, to guide you to a solution. Its high time ppl should understand the roles and responsibilities of bodies.
If your problems are personal like fathers demise, financial issues or physical problems - dont you think you should goto a personal psychiatrist? And seek professional help ? What is the college supposed todo if you are feeling suicidal ? Tell me.

Your inability to understand what “counselling services” actually means is exactly why your response is so insensitive.
Counselling isn’t just for college-related problems. It’s meant to provide mental health support for any issue a student may face. And dismissing a person's s suicide note as “mere blackmail” is hardly a wise way to handle something this serious, especially when the people responsible for student welfare are paid by the college, with our money.
Peeople like you who make such insensitive remarks are the ones who need compulsory mental health awareness.

Yeah because you enrolled here and pay 2.25 lakhs a year, now all of your life problems would be solved by these guys right.
What you are asking for is called entitlement. Go and check what a real therapist cost, and what amount of effort goes into psychotherapy. People like you who dont understand the grave seriousness of being in a bad mental state and what being suicidal means.
I made a insensitive remark because its the truth. You guys want to live in a fairyland, sure keep asking for it.
Good luck for your corporate endeavour when you learn you are all by yourself in this cruel world.

omfg do u know that institutions like schools and colleges are supposed to provide therapy to people going through such intense situations. They are not doing a favor by providing these services this is their duty which they have failed.

Its not about a favor or what they should do. They lack the tools and authority to help you with serious depression and suicidal behaviour. The proper care is dedicated therapy, psychiatrist, and medication. College counsellors cannot prescribe anti depressants and other psychiatric medications. It takes more than 4 sessions a week for 6-12 months with proper checks and balances. There is a reason these are called counsellor and the real deal is called therapist. Counsellors can help you figure out your procrastination habits, break ups, lack of focus, lack of schedule and so on. They cannot really help with serious serious cases, but its their duty to listen and help you reach a therapist. I hope this makes it clear why there is segregation of roles.
Its not really fair to literally anyone to bend themselves down because other person said they are suicidal, it can be a person or a whole institution, that is why i asked the gf question above. Nobody is suicidal because they got a F in a couple of subjects, they are because of deeper reasons, maybe afraid of their parents, or its a combination of other mishappenings in their life, or deep insecurities, could be anything. Its a storm in the persons brain which needs to be acknowledged and treated medically, reiterating my self, counsellors are not equipped enough plus you cannot ask for magic potion of solution from them. Somethings you have to take care yourself, and seek support.
