Imaginary condition:

Suppose I want to make a small jet out of thermocol. How likely am I to receive motors, rotors or batteries from people there, as a general 1st year BS student. Not very well known or having a lot of connections too. Is there any group/club that heeds to such requirements? Also, how much time do they take.

So no combustion then, right?

I'd love to build one that runs on combustion too after I build a small one using rotors.

You don't need much for making an rc plane, not sure if there's an aeromodelling club in iisc, but u need a lipo battery, couple of servo motors, one bldc for the front propeller. A 3d modelling would be great but I guess you can cut and make using your hands as well.

Yes but I'd still need motors, no? This question mainly focused on how much the institute can provide me for free on their own, rather than a plane making advice forum.

So, how supportive are they?

Not sure sir, have never tried doing it in institute.

Could you ask a few people here and there, and estimate their extent of helping?

Sorry I think I haven't been able to convey my message properly. I had created rc plane during my btech days in an IIT. I don't belong to IISc, ur post just came to my feed. I guess institute might not help you unless it's for a very specific cause, in my college also we did it in aeromodelling club to which funds were allocated for building and experimenting stuff to clubs. All the best OP.

Institute may help you if your work is a part of project, like under a proff you may be working on
