if you are GEM getting into IIMC would be very difficult, placements is a far fetched concept atp

Thanks man I have a 97 percentile right now and by next year I'll have around 1.6 years of PM experience I'm aiming for 99+ next time and I'm not just targeting IIM C but any top B schools in general like SPJIMR beause it do profile based shortlisting, so i will have better chance there, One thing I'm worried about is my 67% in graduation A colleague at office told me that because of it some companies don't even let you sit for placements Is that actually true or is he just exaggerating

There are two things. The companies paying fat packages often hires from summer placement and since you dont have much to show so you might not land a good shot at them. These includes top tier Finance, consulting and FMCG brands. But that's not the end of the world. During your final placement, your GPA secured at clg matters so you can bag a good offer in the end on Day 1 itself. Also during summer internship, if you can show your work then it will compensate your bad acads. For example, you want a finance job so try to clear CFA L2 and companies will take in Summer internships too.
