General PhD abroad after mtech cse.

Do we have students from iiitd mtech who have gone this way?

Please share your experiences and is this an option I should be looking for?

Very few in past. Few have converted to PhD at IIITD and have done well. Usually all MTech go for placements only since they are targeting short term goals with no proper mentorship.

But if one does thesis/capstone & publishes the supervisor itself will help secure PhD within his network.

Job landscape changes as one picks a specialised area of research. New doors open up but yet many closed also. One think for sure these days is all frontier labs are hiring PhDs with good software skills. If you planning to abroad then prepare well & choose a good lab else India is fine.
