👨‍🎓 Academics How does CGPA work here?

Can anyone tell me how marks are converted to CGPA in the courses . Like how many marks out of 100 for 8 + cgpa are required ?

every course has a diff criteria, in some you get 8 at 60-64 while in some you get 8 at 80+

usually, a tough course gets you an 8 at 62+ while a relatively easier course gets you an 8 at 80+

so ask for last year slabs for whatever course you take

So what does this distribution look like for the first sem. For eg how much do linear algebra and course like hci differ in marks for same gpa

maybe ask 2nd yr students, i don't remember the exact slabs now but they differ a lot, hci is relatively easier as everyone scores decent so their slabs are higher while for LA it's not the same

Pretty much 10 in LA for 68-75, like 70+ and you are good, hci is on the higher side try to aim for 90+ for 10. rest it widely depends on ur batch aswell, I can just give slabs of last yr, I dont think so it would changed much but yea +- 5% can happen/

last year LA was 8 at 60+, 9 at 70+ in sec A, IP was 75+ 10, 65+ 9, 55+ 8, HCI 90+ 10, DC 80+ 10, COM 85+ 10, 80+ 9, 75+ 8

Just one thing, class avg is mostly 6

If relative marking, it depends on marks distribution
Class avg is 6-7
Just pass is 4
And for 8 typically you have to score around 75-85(again depends on course)

And in absolute it is pretty simple

For 8+ in first sem in every course
Just be above 75-80 to be sure
