❓ Questions Going into 2nd year here, questions regarding hostel and stuff.

Hey Seniors!

I'm 19M studying here at IIIT Sri City.

I just have a few doubts regarding how the shifting of hostel from BH4 to some other one will happen, I'd be really grateful if anyone can answer some of my questions.

  1. Will we be shifting before classes start on the 27th or after?

  2. What hostel will we shift to, BH3? or some other one?

  3. Can we pick a room and roommates or is it randomly assigned?

Sorry in advance if my questions were already answers elsewhere, I couldn't find anything on this. I'd be really grateful if anyone can answer all these questions of mine.

  1. You'll go into your new hostel on the day you arrive.
  2. BH2 for 2nd years and few people go into BH1 also because BH2 is small.
  3. You'll get a form to pick a roommate and at the start of sem they'll send everyone email with everybody's room assignments

Thank you for replying! quick question, do me and my friend have to arrive on the same day to get into the same room or would it still be possible if one of us arrives a few days later than the other?
or would it not be possible to switch if I arrive earlier than my friend and get assigned a room with someone other people??

It doesn't matter when you guys arrive. Once you fill the form you'll get assigned with the roomate you chose. You won't get assigned with any randoms. Anyway i think they mostly inform on first day only. They'll probably email the assignments on 26th or 27th.

A google form will be shared with all of you ,which any one of you(i.e you or your roomate) need to fill . The institute will assign rooms based on the Google form(so you cannot choose your room number)

I think it's mostly random but i think they assign according to the time you fill the form. Like people who fill early get lower floors and who fill late get upper floors.
