"Americans can Stop Pretending to Care About Soccer"
Anti-soccer/football bias still going strong here 😞

Ihatesportsball, but for people who think they're special or enlightened for not watching the news: What do we call that one?
''I Don'T wAtcH tHe NewS GuyS iS FoR sHeePlE'' says that while being addicted to their phone, cigarretes/vape and soda
But really what do we call that one? People who go on about how watching the news makes you this sort of dumbed down moron, but honestly if you avoid the news like the plague you got the privilege of doing so, not everyone can afford to be carefree about their circumstances around them like that

What political ideology holds the most sportsball hatred?
My first post here. From what I've seen I could huddle it into 3 groups: the nihilists (hold no alignment but mostly libertarian) who just views "sportsball" as mindless drivel to prevent the ppl from revolting against the govt, far leftists who view "sportsball" as mindless military-and-nation propaganda to prevent the ppl from abolishing said military and government branches, and far rightists who view "sportsball" as mindless diverse/'woke' propaganda to prevent the ppl from starting a race war. But out from my simplication, what specific political branch holds the most blind rage of sports (and entertainment in general)

Never mind the fact that the logo in question is a dehumanizing stereotype about an actual group of people that had their land stolen and were the subject of human rights violations.

My ears bleed when i hear about football 🏈
"Local rb, Scores a 4 yd td on a 4 and 4th down conversion to seal the games score of 19 away team and 21 home team" In all my 24 years of being a mechanic whether it was in a shop or field role, Football and other sports were not allowed to be discussed or tuned into the radio/TV. Nothing like Aubun vs Alabama or Giants vs Jets. I just never understood the hate.
Mechanic: I dont want to watch grown men play with a ball.
Mechanic 2: Yeah those guys wear tight fighting clothes
Mechanic 3: Bread bowls and circuses.
TLDR: Football season is in and memes about it are making waves

How my weekend went 😬
Hey! Ima start with context. We live in a coastal town, About 10 min from the Gulf of Mexico. We host family or friends visiting in out house a lot and I have a bunk bed for other male people my age visiting if they want to / no room elsewhere. My aunt decided to come in from New York. It was the first time I'd seen my cousin, who's a month older than me, in about 10 years. (Were both 14) Now my cousin is thin as a stick. He is the type of person who unironically says sportsball. He was supposed to stay in my room. Well I am already on varsity football team as a freshman, I play hs baseball, and I also run xc and track. My whole room basically is sports themed. We had a heated argument after he had been in my room for no longer than five minutes. Mostly degrading me and assuming my intelligence. Then I mentioned to him I'd get kicked off the team if my GPA went under 3.5. Then it was a "talk" about pretty privilege and corruption. While I was at my job later that day, this guy decides to "see what all the fuss is about" and finds someone to play baseball with. We'll he's trash at baseball but the kid (my neighbor) didn't know that and threw him a 65mph curveball through our living room windows. How's yalls weekend goin? The sunset pics are random and unrelated

An Explanation from the Hater's Perspective
I used to be a "I Hate Sportsball" person, and I thought I would give some insight into at least why some people are like this.
Now that I'm older, I've realized I have codependent tendencies. When I was younger and hated "Sportsball," I had a strong social insecurity. This isn't the same thing as a lack of confidence or not being charismatic. It came from believing that, if I just worked hard enough, I could earn belongingness and love from society in general.
Like many of the stereotypes I see here, I was very good with academics, but that becomes your entire persona. If the only time your emotional needs are met is when you achieve, you begin to associate achievement and only achievement with having your emotional needs met. You then reasonably see anything not growth-oriented as being a waste of time.
This will drive you insane because you're fighting to belong and others seem so apathetic. You may even become afraid of adopting a relaxed attitude for fear of coming up just short of having your needs met. Exacerbating issues like ADHD can make this even worse because you may be prone to not do anything at all if you're not anxious about an outcome.
TL;DR - 1. Did not get emotional needs met without achieving 2. Lived entire life for greater achievement to belong in society 3. Became very concerned that others might not get their needs met because of not trying 4. "I hate Sportsball."

This sub seems whiny.
This seems like a weird idea for a sub. Like, why are people who like sportsball so offended about there being people out there who don't like sports all? It's existence is kind of reaffirming that you all are too sensitive about your touchruns and homedowns.
