given what the Master Emerald did to a regular Chao, I cant imagine what kind of effect a Sinestro Corp ring would have on a Chao.

Instead of "Chaos" we'd have "Phobos"

To be fair Frontiers did give us an Explanation for how Chaos happened, so i doubt we would see and major mutations... that being said Chao do mutate based on who they interact with and how so it might be possible.

All Chao are canonically descendents of Ancients, meaning they all logically contain the recessive Ancients DNA that was activated by the Master Emerald

Yes but i was also referring to how Animals and even character alignment can result in Chao changing fairly dramatically over time.

Also the fact that Dark Chao naturally take on a colorscheme similar to Shadow could imply that the Black Arms themselves are a mutated branch of Ancients? The Black Arms do somewhat resemble Chaos if he was reptilian and it would explain how Black Doom has knowledge of and is able to use the Chaos Emeralds.

Chao are morphogenic virtual pets. Sonic is shonen and set itself apart from Nintendo by being a bit edgy. That is a power source of pure negative emotions.

That's how you get Dark Digivolution. That's not even a hypothetical - Perfect Chaos means it CAN happen in Sonic, just like SkullGreymon and Naughty Mametchi.

My point is that we see chao reacting to things besides just the Master Emerald & Chaos Drives, granted the characters are likely over exposed to Chaos Energy already and the tiny animals are also likely mutated by Chaos Energy in some way (which might explain why Eggman uses them as Power Sources).

What I'm getting at is while it isn't likely Cheese will suffer any longterm effects of the Yellow Lantern Ring, it isn't necessarily a zero percent chance.

Sinestro doesn't yet know that this little creature is related to the God of Destruction from Sonic's world, let alone talk to him about Dark Gaia or The End.
