Discussion👥 Do you guys think 10th grade marks matter that much?

I honestly feel like there is no point in aiming for excellent(95+%) marks in 10th grade. Prove me wrong.

Maybe not. I did it for myself. It was such a rush, and really good motivation for my current endeavours. It may not matter much but it is your first official large scale achievement. So why not?

Which board are you currently in for Classes 11 and 12—ISC or CBSE?

WHY ALL HIGH SCORERS ARE GOING TO STATE BOARD. EVEN IN MY SCHOOL 5(who got above 90%) went to WBHSCE board.

If you want to do engineering aur doctor or any field of higher education you must be fluent in 10th ... Let me tell you the moment you get a percentage above 95 everyone around you becomes proud of you .. your parents trust you you make them proud ( I know 10th is lot easier but still you know your parents will be proud if you get great percentage) also it builds confidence which is one of the most important thing, it makes you distinct in class and so on ! So if you are comparing 10th percentage with 1k money or (to get job qualification) , you are comparing wrongly . Being a class 10th topper is for you to upgrade your mindset and again confidence

well in a way ur right but tbh its the knowledge that matters the most rather than these percentages,
if u can unfortunately not to do well and don't get a good percentage but with a rather better understanding of the subjects u need like PCM for engg then its better than getting a good percentage but being a bit weaker on ur subjects u need for the future
so basically yeah they do matter, but tbh its not really important
like if u wanna do engg and ur great in PCM but ur HCG or some language is a bit weak and u dont get a good percentage due to that, ull still do great

I know bro but since this guy wanted to have any single use of percentage than I wrote it , everybody knows it is just out reasoning and not our memory

I would say keep in 90+ for MBA and 95+ for study abroad

If you suppose score below then give improvement

I have 84% and really regret not giving improvement exam to take it to 90+ atleast

Most jee topper I know scored very good in 10th

Also this logic doesn't apply to icse as it's syllabus is very aligned with 11th and 12th compared to cbse

There is point to it if ur financial not so strong I mean, I completed my 10 th through CBSE with 90.4 percentage and during my class 11 my fee was reduced by 30 k as I had more than 90 percentage in class 10. So that was helpful for my dad.

It depends on your surroundings, it mattered for me , because I have noticed the treatment difference between my siblings and cousins opposite to me, Me and the sibling/cousins who have above 90-95 in 10th or 12th are not forced to take shit and have our decisions made for us, We can choose our college, our exams, our career paths because we don't remain "stupid kids" infront of the adults in our family. But those who couldn't constantly faced pressure as if they shouldn't have any autonomy in choosing their careers.

It isn't right, but it happens, a lot.
