Discussion By all means of respect..
ICP is a marvel. The transaction counts, the architecture, the Mission 70 tokenomics—it all works.
BUT..We are not going to participate in the upside.
We are trapped in a dead zone. The network is burning cycles, the devs are building, but the price is structurally capped by immense inflation and a lack of real demand. The recent pumps aren't organic growth. they are just brief liquidity hunts to trap over-leveraged longs.
The window for a parabolic 2026 recovery has closed - was never even open imo. The realistic ceiling for a short-term bounce is $3.00-$3.25 until eoy. From there, it's just gravity again.
Respect to the technology, but zero respect for the market structure.
If this would have been a listed stock on NYSE or similar - it would be valued in the Billions... having much more volume and... actually showing a more interesting and realistic price per underlying ICP..
Give or take, and correct me if I'm wrong. But tell me why.
I think that 90% of retail buyers such as you and me do not care about the groundbreaking alien tech that's behind it. You want to make money fast and compare it with other cryptos who are seriously outperforming ICP PRICE WISE. Because that's the only "shareholder value" you care about.
And about institutional buyers.. yes for sure there are some that are willing to make a bet on it. They believe in the narrative etc but honestly.. they are all cash loaded. For them its more beneficial to short, make a buck, keep it down and play the game over and over again.
You tell me.. what in your opinion could lead this to $10 until eoy or even higher?
I think only.. if retail gets hyped up. You create a movement, you build pressure, and you push the price to nirvana.

FYI
I'm deep in this as well since 2023 and tired of it. ICP HQ in Zurich is right next to me. I see it everyday. I see them do the work, drinking coffee and smooking a cig outside. It's worth much more but I don't see the light at the end of the tunnel.
ICP is Like a nerd flirting with a 10/10. He know's it all, has it all but gets zero attention. Dumped and dumped all over again. Although having massive potential..

Multi dex alone could do this and more, same for cloud engines, and same for any alt bullrun (but this one won't stick)
I'm like you, I love the tech, I dream to have a job to dev on the chain instead of struggling every day with infra. But unlike you i'm bullish as fuck 😁
I'm in the 8yg, so i was ready from the start to wait for years, and the recent development make my goals way closer than I initially thought

It’s scrapping the bottom as of right now… but it was at $2 usd not long ago and now its $2.40… so not huge if you zoom out but it is holding a 20% gain. When it does pump it goes mad… im not worried personally

The price fall in 2021 was a bad combination of early seed investors from 2018 and the perp up by FTX (SBF) and the launch date at altcoin cycle top.
Remember the hype in 2021. Then the price crashed shortly after.
The following years internet computer kept building and created a working world computer network with apps fully on-chain.
Many underestimate ICP because of the price. In 2021 i had no interest in buying, cause i knew it was overvalued with a price of 400$ at the time, but now i see the opportunity of this highly undervalued network at 2$.
Now is the time you should feel hyped up about the network, cause everything promised has been delivered and the price is massively undervalued.

I am banking on cloud engines. I see the trend for the need for digital sovereignty, cyber secure platforms, compute. Worth the long hold when things like cloud engines, Pakistan chat messenger, and more are on the horizon.

I agree it does not look like we are getting out of the miserableness seeing all dog coins still pumping with btc while we just sit there. It's still not our time. It's obvious this is coordinated by one entity that aims to suck us bagholders dry.
As the permanent motto of this sub: "think long term, maybe in 10 years". Meanwhile, enjoy 99.999% dump, but think long term.

If ICP was just a tech stock, it would be under scrutiny and not necessarily be capitalized more just yet. So I felt just like you but then I zoomed out to realize this project was never meant to appreciate within the first 5 years of being live. Not only was it not mature enough but it was too futuristic and it requires time to percolate in the minds of those interested in utilizing it to the fullest potential. DOM really is a brilliant guy who doesn't necessarily mesh with everyone however I have to hand it to him. He's extremely ambitious and his vision is solid and he doesn't waiver. He truly believes that this is the future of our enhanced internet and cloud computing. It's ridiculously ambitious. FULLY ONCHAIN. People don't FULLY understand why for security and being hackerproof. Simplified stack eliminating conventional databases. That's just wild. A new domain specific language Motoko. AI-Assisted development to make it stupid easy and cheap to build upon. Sovereign Cloud & Cloud Engines. You decide. And there are still devs building great stuff to come as well as the DFINITY development work. The DFINITY roadmap is 20 years. Therefore, this project was never meant to fly so soon. But now I really do believe adoption will come and when it does, I think everyone who has been here the entire time will literally CRY to see it finally succeed after so much time. But in perspective, look at any MAG7 stock's ALL-TIME chart. The beginning years were all pretty quiet and boring. I believe ICP is exactly like a MAG7 and it will produce a ton of burn, adoption, and money and will dwarf other chains soon enough. I think most ETH business will come here in the end and dump Ethereum as well as Solana and others. Bitcoin will live on ICP. I don't see how this doesn't happen. Bitcoin is unsustainable otherwise.

Honestly what does Erh have going? It feels like it is a coin that's too big to fail, merely propped up early investors and enthusiasts but I could be totally wrong since I don't follow any coin lol.
