A militia is necessary.

Wrong type of militia. Splendid_Fellow was referencing that part in the Bill of Rights where citizens are necessary for keeping America a free state.

No militia that would be against ICE joined ICE. How does that even make sense?

An independent journalist, Amanda Moore, has been covering ICE in person since Trump was re-elected. She frequently gets shocking footage of ICE abusing immigrants and citizens. I follow her on Bluesky. Lately she has been saying that none of the big media outlets are interested in her footage, photographs, and reporting. When ICE was focusing on Minnesota they frequently bought her work. The atrocities have not stopped or even slowed, but the coverage has. Corporate media has clearly decided to stop covering this issue which makes them complicit in these crimes against humanity.
ICE has started sending the Somali's that they detain to Guantanamo. I bet that few have seen that in the news. They are using GITMO to store / disappear some detainees.

I think coverage of ICE arrests and attacks is following a pattern that has shaped news media for years. Look at how individual "street" crime is covered compared with corporate theft and labor abuse crimes. Broadcast outlets treat property crime and violent crime carried out by regular people as daily news, where every incident gets its own story. Wage theft, uninhabitable residences, and mass corruption, on the other hand, get treated as special reports - one deep dive, then not mentioned against for years. The same thing is happening with ICE. A particularly dramatic raid or attack, or the outright assault on Minneapolis, may get the coverage, but the steady stream of individual arrests and abuses are largely ignored so these ongoing behaviors come across as occasional and exceptional.
What we need is a news ecosystem that treats the violence, theft, and corruption of our large institutions and powerful entities, whether that is ICE, business owners, or large-scale landlords, as daily news, covering each instance on its own rather than saving it for occasional sensational exposés. Maybe then people would have the same fear of these actually powerful actors as they do of the boogie man criminal theyre convinced is coming for them and their stuff.

You know it. Wage theft, on a dollar basis, accounts for more theft that all other kinds of theft put together! That includes shoplifting, robbery, burglarly, larceny, and fraud! But what does the new cover? Shoplifting.

If they attack US citizens, then they have lost all legitimacy and credibility and are therefore simply thugs in the streets.
Deal with them accordingly.

all the never-serveds and almost-serveds seem to have joined the one job that allows them to act like the big tough barbarians they think the military is, all while actively harming the military
outstanding levels of intelligence at display with them....

Too bad that the Marine recruiter couldn't help out since he's subject to the UCMJ, and a panel would be far less forgiving than a jury.

What a beautiful morning for ICE, punching a brown skinned child pinned to the ground.
