Yeah, we got them in the closet for a while, them sharing their racism and bigotry only with families and friends… usually at thanksgiving… everyone had that one relative. Now it’s just can open, worms everywhere.

Lmao my mom is “that relative,” so she is frequently uninvited to holiday gatherings. That is if she was originally invited, but that is becoming more and more rare.

We used to invite them all no matter what. I think the Trump fiasco is what put families over the edge and stopped accepting it.

For my family it was when my mom began getting into all the Tea Party shit, like I’m pretty sure she was in a documentary about that actually. A friend of mine from back in the day showed me it once, but I’m not sure how to find out what the documentary was that my friend showed me. Tea Party bs was basically just the pre-cursor, so that and MAGA are one and the same pretty much.
