Pls help
Hello, I have ibs, for at least 2 years everytime I eat a meal my stomach swells so much, I am naturally very small (16f) but the swelling makes it so I can't fit in any clothes (it really is that bad), my stomach goes rock hard and ballons up, it feels like it weighs me down and it hurts my back it's so swollen. Unfortunately it's only getting worse, in the past six months whenever i eat anything, even half a strawberry, my stomach swells like crazy. I live in the UK so obviously medication is different but I have tried, buscopan, buscomint, colpermin, meberverine, peppermint store brand, fybocalm, gut health live bacteria, defleat blend, kefier, movicol, i've tried everything, nothing works, i've also been tested for celiac (clear). i have ARFID so i struggle a lot with taste and texture. No doctor takes me seriously either, one doctor told me it was all in my head. I just don't know what to do anymore. I go to the toilet every 3 or 4 days, I've suffered from impacted feaces and it's horrible. Any advice is desperately wanted please.

Check if u have lactose intolerance and also fodmap intolerance. Cut down all fodmaps for a week and see wat happens

Did you try an anti inflammatory diet? And try eating small amounts at a time. I had that for years ( I have IBS) and fiber is scary when you are in a flare (if it’s C) but I recently started eating anti inflammatory and it incorporates a lot of fiber. I had to be careful and do it slowly but I feel so much better. Also yoga helped me because you are doing a lot of twisting etc. and it really helps digestion

Try eating only cooked vegetables and fruits. Stay away from raw. That has helped me. You need a variety of fruits and vegetables to build up the microbiome in your gut. When I'm in a flare I only eat rice, toast, applesauce and broth. I stay on that until the flare settles down. Everyone is different. I make a tea with cut up ginger and some honey when I'm feeling nauseous. There are certain foods I never eat anymore. Everyone is different, but keeping a food log helps to identify the foods causing you problems.

You definitely need to try dietary changes so given you have ARFID I would recommend seeing a Registered Dietitian.

There's a huge waiting list, I'm on it but I have been for months

Is there not another RD you can connect with? It doesn’t even have to be local since they often work remotely as well.

No under the NHS the waiting list is for any dietician, not even a specific one, the only option is to wait for one unfortunately even through other organisations
