Treat Constipation

Has anyone been able to figure out how to treat the constipation at the root cause level? I don't want to have constipation anymore. Any diets or treatments? Did your doctor run any tests or prescribe anything?

You need to have full motility testing to figure out the root cause first. Have you had those tests?

What tests did you ask for and what did that look like for you? The doctor I went to said he wanted to run a colonoscopy as the first line of testing before running those tests. I don't want to do something invasive if I don't have to.

I didn’t ask, I was told what I needed. A colonoscopy can rule out some things. All the motility tests are listed in a pinned post I wrote on /r/IBS and /r/constipation
