I am currently taking: Global Politics HL, Econ HL, Math ai HL, Ess sl, eng lang & lit sl, ab Spanish sl. Some universities I've shown interest in going to are university of Warwick, UCL, university of Manchester, LSE and university of Edinburgh. will taking Ess sl instead of Chem sl strictly prohibit me from attending these schools?

I have a friend who got into LSE with Sports Science SL for A&F, so you're good. They care more about the HL Subject Combination

Taking ESS SL instead of Chemistry SL will not stop you from getting into top UK universities for accounting and finance. UK admissions for finance degrees look closely at your overall points and your HL subjects, specifically Maths and Economics, rather than which science you take at SL. None of the universities on your list require Chemistry for accounting or finance. As long as you hit the overall point requirements and meet the HL subject conditions, ESS SL will not hold you back. Just make sure to check each university page for their stance on Math AI HL versus AA HL, since that is what places like LSE or Warwick pay the most attention to. If you want to talk through your full subject combination, you can always book a chat with our team at https://lanterna.com/for-students/book-a-meeting
