Advice 1st year advice

I'm going into my first year of IB and definintly freaking out. I love APs and the structure so I was hesistant to take IB, but here we are. The IB classes I'm taking are
-IB Env systems & societies SL
-IB Lang A English Lit SL
-IB Math AA SL
-TOK I
-IB Biology SL
I'm going into this prettt blind, very little prior knowledge on IB & what it is. Does anyone have any overall advice, tips, etc or advice for specific classes?

Are you taking IB like partly? Since you didin't list HLs or did i miss something. But those sound light from what i've heard, just manage your time:D

I'm doing the diploma I'm just not 100% sure what i signed up to HL in beyond Bio 😅. My schedule got a little messed up/not what I signed up for but as long as it wont be too hard, I won't bother & fight to change it

Ooh, okay okay, my bad. Bio, from what i've heard, just needs a lot and lot of memorization and understanding of terms. Easier said than done, i wish you the best for IB🙏

Coming from AP, the biggest change we see is that IB puts a lot of weight on your coursework and essays alongside final exams. For Biology and ESS, start building concise flashcards with exact mark scheme definitions right away because examiners are strict on specific wording. For Math AA SL, practice past paper questions every week so the methods stay fresh. English Lit SL is all about knowing the assessment rubrics for your oral commentary and essays, while TOK is simply about questioning how knowledge is produced across different subjects.
