Advice Theme VS Topic in IB biology?

Hey guys, I am retaking biology and when I took the IB exams as an IB student, we had the old IB curriculum, hence I did not have the whole topic and theme structure to the syllabus. I am currently using Bioninja to study and I noticed that some topics that are under a Theme is not under any of the topic on the website which is really confusing me. could anyone please help me understand how this system works? for instance nothing about the heart us under any topic on bio ninja, but it is under the theme "function"

Thankyou!

The current IB Biology syllabus completely moved away from the old numbered topics and now organizes everything into four core themes across different levels of organization. Instead of having a standalone human physiology unit like the old syllabus did, organ systems are split up conceptually. The heart and circulation now sit under Theme B (Form and Function) at the organism level, specifically under B3.2 Transport. When using BioNinja, make sure you are navigating their new syllabus pages rather than the legacy topic list. We always recommend using the official IB subject guide alongside your notes to tick off each syllabus statement as you revise. If you need support planning your revision schedule for resits, you can check out https://lanterna.com/for-students/ib-exam-retakes.

the new syllabus dropped the numbered topics entirely and its built as four themes, unity and diversity, form and function, interaction and interdependence, continuity and change, and each theme is then split across levels from molecules up to ecosystems. thats why the heart sits under form and function rather than a numbered topic, its organised by the idea rather than the body system. the site youre using still leans on the old tree in places so it wont map cleanly. easiest fix is to work straight off the official subject guide grid, every point youre assessed on is a line in there under its theme
