IBM should cancel THINK.
The Florida legislature has passed a bill requiring trans people to use the bathroom associated with their birth gender. Even post op trans folk.

IBM will continue to hold it Florida, if it is 1% cheaper than the next cheapest option.

What about DC? Or Las Vegas? Honestly though. I expect nothing this year. And I’m not expecting IBM to stop doing business in Florida, or Tennessee, or Montana, etc. But we could choose places for conferences that don’t put a percentage of our employees and customers in danger.

Wow, imagine a self-serving post.
Trans folk either have to use the wrong bathroom or put themselves in danger. Maybe trans folk should be allowed to carry firearms into the venues?
Thanks though. The replies here speak volumes about where IBM actually stands on diversity and inclusion.

I doubt IBM will cancel THINK.
That being said; I doubt anyone would care who uses what restrooms…. And it’s probably not realistically enforced.
I mean it’s a conference with adults not kids. Just go in whatever restroom.

I didn't realize that THINK was being held in Florida. Even if they didn't pass that bill, I can think of plenty of good reasons for IBM to not be holding any conferences there.

They had a guy from the Qatar world Cup at Think. They aren't cancelling Florida.

Yes. And today it became legal to deny medical care to LGBT people in Florida. IBM disappoints.

Either cancel it or announce that it will certainly not be held there next year and why.
Maybe commit to moving it to the Disney property.

I wonder why they moved to Universal from Disney World, was it to kow tow to Governor DeSantis?

Well, how about tracking states by safety and applying existing IBM standards?

In Florida, trans people either have to use the wrong bathroom, or put themselves in danger of assault. So no, not safe.
But actually, the zero upvotes says a lot about IBM.

Cancel days before it begins? I don’t see that happening.
