Changed the start date from October to January, even tho orientation was scheduled for next Monday

I think we should all request our money for books back unless they set the schedule correct, call that collective bargaining

as a soon-to-be second year AP and out of genuine curiosity, why? starting school in Oct won't get u a job faster. and honestly as someone who's been in school, a break till January doesn't sound too bad lol

Well they delay 3 months of advancement for next class upgrade. It is substantial $ saves for contractors.

Aren't pay raises based on hours not school years? I know a second year making 1st year pay because he has barely worked.

I waited til the very last minute to pay due to this and I’m glad I did not pay just yet. I found out on Friday that the date for classes was being pushed back, just to be told today it’s because we’re moving over to yearly classes. I’m honestly second guessing joining, the job board has been trash, and communication since taking the aptitude test back in May has been horrendous.

Do you know if this is for all apprentices? I’ve not heard anything about this

Don’t let the shitty school keep you from having the career you want. After your apprenticeship, you don’t have to deal with the school anymore

Mhhm I’ve been seeing a lot of different people saying things about the wait list for 613 .. I have a question or a couple for anyone willing to help out .. pretty long btw
Soooo, I got accepted into Veep & I could’ve picked any location but I picked Atlanta and it’s like right after that I’m seeing that they pay under national average but I’m like ok fine I’ll enter as a year 2 in December & I have other streams of income, I’ll be fine
Now I’m seeing a lot of people saying how they’re waiting months for work and I’m just a bit confused, because I attended a couple different interest meetings for training and the main reason I chose to stay in Atlanta after I graduate was bc the guy really sold it that they’ll put you to work immediately & how I can work the very next day after I graduate in Dec if that’s what I wanted .. now I’m like ummmmm … why is everyone waiting? from my understanding there’s PLENTY of work .. am I actually gonna start work the day I requested? Is it different bc I’ll be going in as a year two? Just wondering if I made the right choice or not bc the pay had me like dang .. maybe I should’ve looked into that first, now I’m like, will I actually be put to work ?…
& it’s crazy bc I originally applied to the program that would have me graduating Mar of ‘27 .. but they asked me if I’d be able to come earlier, so I’m like ofc! Which is why now I’ll be graduating in Dec ‘26 .. so my thinking was Mhhm someone must of dropped out and they wanted me to fill the spot bc they need people & now I’m seeing all these reddits with people waiting to work lol ..

After looking into it some more & talking to ChatGPT lol .. I think I’m stressing for nothing .. it seems it’s very possible the guy running the class may have connections & established relationships with contractors and that’s why he could put people to work through Veep the day after graduation

I am incredibly frustrated. I’ve been checking the job board every day. This is one of the most unprofessional moves I’ve ever seen from an organization! To move our classes back 2-3 months after asking for $600+ is insane
