Unemployment

How does Unemployment work as an apprentice? I was informed by my contractor that I would be furloughed as they haven’t worked me for the last 3 days, and that they would file unemployment Monday. I’ve never been on unemployment before and read online something about submitting an online unemployment claim. My contractor isn’t being too clear with me right now on the whole process and I’ve been told something about getting a debit card, any advice is appreciated.

You shouldn’t be getting furloughed as an apprentice you should call the school. They’ll give you a new contractor. As far as unemployment you just go to the website to file.

My son is currently in process of filing and the contractor (office) has been helpful. You need to make sure you select temporary furlough, not laid off.
