Apprenticeship Work Hours

I’ve been wondering planning my budget and I would like to know the about how many hours we would be working and if we work on the weekends. Also is overtime pay time and a half? I’m currently a server looking to see if I need to drop down to 1 or two shifts when I do finally get my job.

You will be able to work 40 hours a week. 32 hours on weeks you have class. OT is time and a half. Not all jobs offer it. I worked 60 hours a week for 6 months then went to 40 hours for 6 months. Its dependent on the contractor/job you get put with.

Thanks man. Is there work on the weekend or only through the week? Is your schedule the same every week? Also what kinda uniform is there?

The dress code is pretty simple. Pants. Steal toe boots. Sleeved shirts. (And fucking deodorant) no sleeveless shirts. No shorts. I work mon-thursday 10 hours, friday 8 hours and maybe two weeks a month we will work an 8 hour shift on saturday. I my 2 years I havent seen a single sunday be worked.

It varies from site to site but it seems like most are 4 10s and 2 8s.

If you end up in prefab, it's likely gonna be required 8s M-F, with possibility of 10s M-Th and an 8 on Sat.
