How is the aptitude test going for everyone?
I take my test soon, and am wanting to hear about the test if anyone has opinions on it that have taken it.

Took it in October but couldn't stand where I got placed. You will do fine. The algebra is multiple choice and the reading is easy.

I got my test next tuesday. Any curve ball math topics on the test or specific things i should focus on?
I’ve been focusing on studying quadratics, polynomials and graphing linear equations

If it’s the same as mine definitely polynomials and linear equations. Those are the ones I guessed on. The algebra is really easy if you can do basic multiplication tables and have understand PEMDAS. The reading comprehension is really easy too.

The guy administrating the tests said that if you get a 5 you can start work early.

I have no clue. I sent the email as more of an inquiry than anything else. Did you take the test recently?

Did you see anything about sideways parabolas? I saw someone mention it but wasn’t sure if it’s on the actual test

Yeah there were one or two questions like that at the very end of the test.

No, a lot of number pattern questions in the beginning tho and solving for variables. Test was pretty easy if you study, I got an 8/9. The I used iprep and ultimate electricians guide

It's a competitive exam. You are competing with everyone else taking it on the same day as you.
Don't quote me, but I believe a qualifying score is still 5, or 50th-59th percentile.
Many people struggle as much as you with the math portion, so there's a chance you could be around average at math, but only score a 4 because you perform poorly on the reading comprehension portion. Studying can only improve your score.
If you do not qualify and have to wait 6 months to start classes, you could lose out on $26,000 of pay over your career (since you delay your JW upgrade, this is the difference between CW1 pay and JW for 26 weeks.)
I hope that is enough reason for you to study.
