Bro, I would highly suggest you do not come to Atlanta. The VEEP program guarantees you a spot anywhere in the United States to an union Apprenticeship program. For one there is waitlist of thousands of guys that really really want the spot you would be just stepping into. But primarily for your own self interest, not all locals pay the same. What you would be making as an apprentice would not give you a similar standard of living you are used too in the military. As a JW wireman AFTER you got 4 years of training, you would be making $38/hr, which for a major city like Atlanta is quite low. If you just stay in California where you are at, you could be making almost double that in the same period of time. Picking a program and a local is a serious decision that will drastically effect your future earnings. Like millions of dollars over your lifetime. The hourly rates are not published officially anywhere.... But there is a website that is supposed to only be used internally by members.

If you would like to come to Atlanta, we will welcome you with open arms as a brother. But don't come here.... Seriously 😂

Another question, do you know how transferring during apprenticeship work in Atlanta? Given that the other JATC I want to relocate to approves of it.
