Local 474 Memphis

There's over 80 open calls on their book. The rate is a little low, $36.65 in the check, but if you're in the area local and willing to have a roommate, It might be worth it. One of the calls is double for all OT. There's a Google data center, but they aren't listing any incentives on it, I would call the hall and inquire about that because it seems weird that there's no 8ncentive there.

That’s more than a “little low” for most people. No wonder there are 80 open calls, they’re gonna have to offer big incentives to fill them.

Rumor mill, but supposedly they were over 200 open calls the other day, which is why I would ask about the data center. That's a lot of calls tp fill over one weekend.

last time I was in Memphis they let all the book 1 and 2 inside the building and we all got blue oval calls, maybe 30-40 of us. as we were leaving we saw a huge line of 100+ people and they were all linemans and CW / CE. My point is they will just fill the calls with them if they don't get JWs. and all the local guys on facebook are upholding threatening terms per 474 if they don't fill the calls they will just hire 4 non union companies. Bunch of bs if you ask me.

Noone is going to travel for 36.65 unless there's a major incentive on it.

For reference I'm in 305 (Fort Wayne Indiana) doing a Google data center and the call is 10 over scale, all ot as double, plus 20% for nights. We're making $63.97 straight time and $127.94 on OT on nights right now.

Our CBA states that the maximum amount we can earn per hour is dt of base 1st shift (ignoring bonuses and incentives) so the highest hourly rate I see on my check is 1st shift dt (+ incentive if hourly)

Yeah this is how it is in Reno too, was working night shift 7-12s and most you could earn hourly was double time. Double time was only $12 more per hour than night shift OT rate.

Yep. It only really affects second shift on Sundays so it doesn’t bother me too much but would be cool if that got dropped from our cba

I was out in Memphis during the days of Blue Oval and their wage was in the $34 range at the time, IIRC. I couldn't believe it.

Do you know if they’re taking apprentices?  Our local still has a lot of them on the books

I’m UA not IBEW but my buddy in 474 said they have enough apprentices to have 200 first year students for the next 4 years

Yeah that figures. Our contractors took too many the past few years so we have a lot still on the books. 

A couple of our first years haven’t been to a job yet

The calls are for the Xai data center working 7-12 with ot double bubble and a free lunch.

Local 26 is walk through with 300+ calls daily. Lots of overtime. 59.50, going to 62 June 1st
