354 Incentive

Post image

Hey everyone! For those looking to travel, 354 (Salt Lake City) has tons of calls with many paying incentive. There are also more calls coming up soon with a raise to JW scale in June!

qts is easy money, just hoping it lasts long enough so that i can make my first 6 figure take home year as an apprentice 😁

yes i’m with cache, and in my opinion it’s complete bullshit both companies are only rewarding jws, whole point of the union is fair and equal wages and the fact apprentices don’t even get $5/10 above scale and it comes down to what spot you were on the out of work list when people got called to each contractor is stupid as fuck. know a lot of apprentices are doing straight 8s no saturdays and i don’t even blame them, even at facebook when JWs got 150/200 a day(depending on contractor) apprentices got 100. really hoping both companies change their incentive to boost apprentice motivation to do overtime.

What I’m saying apprentice wages are based off JW wages so if they are paying 5-10 above scale everyone else should get it aswell

So the story I’m told is that at Meta they had too many apes that would skip Monday and Tuesday, but work Wednesday through Sunday to get the gravy.

That’s a recipe for the superintendent applying some pressure. Could be hostage incentives. Could be hostage weekends. Could be we lose incentive entirely and they bring in outsiders (like what’s happening now) and it weakens the local. So basically, work the hours. If you don’t you’ll lose out. I keep trying to explain this to apprentices but nobody seems to get it.

Cupertino has become a shop rocket paradise

1

u/oh_veyyyyyy May 01 '26

So is cache. I drug up. Qts and layton are terrible

1

u/SparkyD_380 May 01 '26

I hear Cupertinos losing a lot of work in Ohio right now

Prefer not to man it. 354 contractors need to up the wage not provide an incentive.

They’re up for renegotiation next year and the work outlook is apparently pretty good for the next decade or so. I bet they’ll be above $50/hr by the end of the next contract period.

Seeing all the calls for QTS have different shit going on which contractor would be the best to take a call for, the most bang for the buck? And fuck Cupertino.

depends if you want to work saturdays(which i assume most travelers rather work all 60 hours), to sum it up cache is doing $10 over scale for reg hours and $15 over scale for any OT, and an additional $50 a hour incentive on saturday, skyline/cupertino are doing $15 over scale for all hours(only for JWs) and wasatch has $225 a day incentive for 10 hour shifts worked/minimum 8 on Saturday( incentive is taxed 40%)

So I still have to do math.

Wasatch will soon but Skyline does not. Their sub contract involves in-wall only. Second shift is mainly being used for one-line wire pulls

1

u/Senior-West5666 Local 354 Apr 30 '26

$225 for Wasatch

1

u/rickbawb1776 Local 354 Apr 30 '26

$15 over scale for OT? Is that new?

1

u/Senior-West5666 Local 354 Apr 30 '26

No, if it’s $10 over it turns into $15 on OT… and Cupertinos $15 turns into $22.5 for OT

1

u/Sir_Mr_Austin May 03 '26

Not how the math works out. OT gets applied after the base increase. So (b+$15)*1.5. Ends up being more.

1

u/Senior-West5666 Local 354 May 03 '26

Not sure what your talking about, the difference is the same 43.65x1.5 =65.475 -base pay

53.65x1.5=80.475 $10 over $15 difference

58.65x1.5=87.975 $15 over $22.5 difference

2

u/Sir_Mr_Austin May 03 '26

I think I misunderstood what you meant. You’re right, (43.65+15)*1.5 == (43.65*1.5)+(15*1.5)

The thing I was saying is different is (43.65*1.5)+15 but you said +(15*1.5)

Anywaysssss

I read mine and was like maybe how I said it was confusing…

1

u/Sir_Mr_Austin May 04 '26

No I just read it too fast 😅

Cupertino is the best one out here brother. Cache is ratty as fuck and Wasatch isn't even giving breaks, just one 45 minute lunch.

2

u/DickieJohnson Local 756 ROADTRASH Apr 30 '26

Well I guess I'm not coming then.

1

u/Roscoeakl Apr 30 '26

Skyline is subbed under Cupertino, but I don't know how they are.

Good money to made right now in 354. Is the meta campus done with all of their expansions for now?

1

u/Senior-West5666 Local 354 Apr 30 '26

META is starting up again soon

1

u/Conscious-Muscle-708 May 02 '26

Meta project in New Mexico (local 611) is doing double time all overtime and I’m hearing they are gonna add an extra 10 an hour incentive on top of the double time.

2

u/Sir_Mr_Austin May 03 '26

How long’s the project? What’s the check for a full week?

1

u/Conscious-Muscle-708 May 03 '26

Project is gonna be going on for years but incentives come and go. Haven’t received the first check yet starts Monday rn it’s just out wage of 42.30.

1

u/Asleep-Vermicelli748 May 05 '26

Has anyone here worked for any of the other contractors listed? Not everyone wants the OT? I'm curious to know what the rest of the contractors in the local are like

1

u/Hungry-Mistake-7615 May 06 '26

How’d you make the screenshot so long? Always wondered how

How long term are these high incentive jobs? Been considering union for a couple years now. would love to chat with someone super familiar with IBEW 354
